We like to call ourselves an 'authentic Neapolitan pizzeria with an urban twist' who take pizza very seriously...
Born in Napoli. Raised in Peckham. 081 started as a lockdown pop-up at Peckham Levels in 2021 and quickly became an award-winning hotspot on Peckham Rye.
Our founder, Naples-born pizzaiolo Andrea Asciuti, brings the soul of his hometown to London with Neapolitan pizzas made with naturally fermented dough, seasonal ingredients, and bold toppings. For us, pizza isn’t just food, it’s a way of life.
From delivering pizzas as a teenager in Naples to mastering the art of dough fermentation and opening his first pizzeria in London, Andrea has always been about pushing the boundaries of tradition.
After co-founding South London’s cult-favourite Bravi Ragazzi, he expanded his skills at some of the city’s top restaurants before launching 081. Inspired by Napoli’s rich pizza culture and vibrant energy, he set out to create something different; Neapolitan pizza without boundaries.
For us, pizza is a ‘spiritual mindset’. Our cooking process involves slowly fermenting the dough for at least 36 hours before using the Neapolitan technique of ‘the slap’. We cook our pizza at 450° for 90 seconds, for a perfectly fluffy and slightly chewy crust.
We take pizza seriously, so you don’t have to.
Other than great pizza, we’re about culture, community, music and doing things our way. Next stop? Shoreditch. Oh, and we’ve thrown in a DJ booth, because good pizza deserves good beats.
